As a potter, I relish the opportunity to create work that melds function and form in a relationship
that pleases multiple senses. For the most part, my work is functional before all else, and knowing
that a piece will be used daily is the driving force behind my creative process.
However, some firing techniques, such as the pit fired vase or Raku fired lantern below, prevent
pieces from being used to hold water or food, and I enjoy experimenting with them very much.
